Portable RV Roof Shade Cooling Canopy

installation guides

Hovershade is patent Pending. We have step-by-step video and detailed PDF guides for quick set up and deployment that you will have access to with your purchase

The canopy frame system is designed with  Roof and wind safety features. The Frames are designed not to move or pivot once installed as instructed. We use scratch resistance padding, rust-proof painted metal modular parts guaranteed to help reduce the intense heat, UV damage, gas and soring electricity cost for parked RVs and campers of all kind

First time setup, measurement, and familiarizing can take 45-60 minutes, (less on smaller rigs). Subsequent setup on a 40' RV 20 minutes or less, but well worth the days of heat relief, roof and paint protection.

A quick Video showing the Frame and line assemble, setting up the shade canopy, and deploying the shade frame system. This sample setup is for a 40 foot RV but the frame system setup is the same for all vehicles. Actual setup time 20 minutes

Hovershade Quick Steps
  1. Connect the modular frame pieces, adjust the length of the overhang, set the pins, insert padding: 5 minutes
  2. Place each Frame on the front and back of the vehicle roof do not place too close to the edge, consider the accessible tie-down spots
  3. 4 lines are Tied to front frame hooks and hang over the back frame hooks on to the ground
  4. Front and back mast lines hold the roof shade up, the 2 side lines create an awning effect on each side of the RV. Add a line from one corner of the frame over the mast, tie to the other corner to create a V shaped roof shade.
  5. strap down the frames to the vehicle
  6. The shade is connected to the mast lines, there are several ways to pull up the shade to the top of the rv using the mast lines. This is discussed in the detailed steps of our manual. Once the shade is up, tension the mast lines and secure to vehicle
  7. Pull the the shade across the vehicle and adjust the shade fabric as needed. Detailed line setup in our manual.
  8. Add front shade to keep the heat resonating front windows cool
  9. if winds pickup more than 25mph pull the shade open like a curtain, bunch it up (takes seconds) and secure it to the side of the vehicle or tuck it under the straps holding down the Frames. 100mph winds wont affect it, no need to dismantle the frames.
  10. The mast is 4 foot tall creating a V sloped shade setup  allows satellite dishes, solar panels while closed
  11. To dismantle the system reverse this process, the fabric will fall to the ground in seconds
  12. Total setup time for 40 foot massive shade setup: 30-45 minutes, faster for smaller vehicles.
